Aluminium construction profiles, threaded rods, 3D prints, inkjet prints, steel plates, dibond.
Display designed in the occasion of Focus on contemporary publication, a residency at Espace de l’Art Concret (Mouans-Sartoux) in June 2025.
The residency resulted in an exhibition at the art center and a publication, Tendre Alumine, which documents the events and process behind the display.
In June 2025, as part of the Focus on Contemporary Publishing residency program organized by the Espace de l’Art Concret bookstore in Mouans-Sartoux, Postfirebooks was invited to present its catalog in the art center's exhibition space. This hybrid event was curated by Inès d’Ersu, who was in charge of the documentation collection at Espace de l’Art Concret, and who is pursuing a phd in Aesthetics at the EHESS (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences).
To bring this invitation to life and to showcase Postfirebooks' publications, three presentation modules were designed. These were installed in the room provided by the art center in such a way that visitors could approach them, walk between them, circle around them, and ultimately pick up one of the books resting on them. During the event, the space and the modules were activated through readings and discussions with the public. Seating is placed next to the modules to create a lounge where the public is invited to sit, close to the publications.
With publications by Emma Berger-Pierre, Fanny Souade Sow, Lydia Amarouche, Nesrine Salem, Cliff Tait-Jamieson, José Sales Albella, Thomas Ducrocq, Jules Savoie, Noémi Lancelot, Sam Krack, et Eric Watier.
Thanks to José Sales Albella, André Devezaud, Marc Ducrocq, and Nicolas Morel for their help and ideas in creating the modules. Thanks to Inès d’Ersu for her invitation and kindness, and to the Espace de l’Art Concret team for their hospitality.
