Tendre Alumine

Tendre Alumine documents Focus on contemporary publishing, an exhibition of the Postfirebooks’ catalog, which took place in June 2025 at the Espace de l’Art Concret in Mouans-Sartoux, France. Throught this event, Postfirebooks was able to delve deeper into its ongoing researchs about publishing practices and the presence of bookforms in exhibition spaces.

The publishing house, invited to exhibit its catalog in the art center’s spaces, proposes a break with the conventional ways of showing books in which publications are placed at a distance from their audience. Postfirebooks proposes modular display stands, installed within the space, that encourage close interaction with the publications and their manipulation—thus questioning the interactivity between readership/visitors and publications/artworks within the context of their distribution/exhibition.

Both a mediation tool about the show and a documentary photography book, Tendre Alumine is a meta-publication which present Postfirebooks through its research topics and the installation shown during the Focus on contemporary publishing. It is also the prequel to an ongoing project, Journal de Maintenance (A Maintenance Log), a forthcoming publication whose text has been read at the Espace de l’Art Concret.
